The prostitutes. Some standing by their ‘do it and go’ rooms and the others who presumably don’t have such rooms by the road. A lot of them are not attractive(fat or old), and with the red lipstick and horrid choice of clothes, they turn me off every time I pass. I’m not trying to be mean but just being frank and honest.

However mostly, it just blends into the rest of old Mumbai, and it’s just another run-down lane you walk through. Sooner rather than later, you stop noticing the difference and it all fades into the background.

 

An interesting question. People— you, me, they, all. Some feel fear, some go to washout their sadness, some go for fun, some in search of lost happiness, some try to find the meaning of love. Some don't feel anything, they just see the money part of it. Again life's experiences. I know a person who wanted to see the place and went to only see the place - a highly spiritual person. We were going in a closed vehicle. A friend had come to take us around. 

It was a new experience for me. Had no idea of the area, had only heard about it. Some meters before we reached this sadhak started feeling very very heavy in heart and was experiencing deep sadness. The person asked me if we had reached the place and I having no idea, 

I, asked my friend who had accompanied with us. He said yes we are near that area. This spiritual person could not take the sad energy anymore and we turned back. This is a very personal experience I am sharing as I was a witness to it.

We were out with family for dinner one december night and after a late dinner everyone wanted an ice cream. We went to the Naturals ice cream at Juhu and my husband went inside to order for us while some of us were waiting outside. 

 

I saw a young girl may be a college goer dragging a suitcase behind her, dressed casually in a short top and jeans walking towards an auto. It was then that it hit me that its only in Mumbai a girl can walk safely at 11 PM in the night and not feel afraid. I felt proud.
